what are the best hunting pellets for a gamo big cat 1200 pellet rifle?

I've tried about 8 different brands of the more expensive pellets with this gun, and honestly the best pellets ive used are the cheap crosman premier hollowpoints. I've owned mine for about a year and bought it for pests. These pellets have dropped groundhogs from 75 feet with headshots. The key to this gun is holding it extremely light to allow it to recoil any way it'd like. I use a bipod and don't even touch the stock to my shoulder. I can hit quarters all day long with this gun.

Most likely a dome pellet. Try a variety of brands/types to see which ones your air rifle likes. A few examples: Crosman Premier Hollow Points, Hunting (Dome), RWS Superdomes, Beeman FTS (Field Target Specials), Gamo Hunters etc. or pick up a Gamo Combo package: it have 4 types/tins of 250 count pellets for you to test out.

as usual, bad advice on yahoo answers by people who have never done what you ask and give bad advice anyway. they are both the same gun, so they give the same fps. id personally would not bother with gamo, but id jsut go with the cheapest option there is. the largest animal id kill with a pellet gun is a crow.

The ones your rifle prefers(accuracy) and the only way to determine that is to shoot a variety of good quality pellets

With that said it seems the BC prefers the Crosman Premier Domed Light(7.9gr) more often than any other.
