What's the furthest you have ridden in one day on a rigid frame bike (any brand)?

Yeah, I know; why would you even want to? Maybe no one on here has ridden one. Just an off-the-wall question to entertain myself. A guy recently did 3047 miles in just over 50 hours on a rigid chopper which seems like an inhuman feat to me, and got me curious.

Feel free to let loose with your war stories!

Thanks!

Vancouver to Winnipeg Canada (1435mi) straight through 23 1/2 hours on a '36 Harley 61in Knuckle head.Aside from the rigid frame the stock handel bars killed my wrists and shoulders.

You talking about the Smokeout huh? I love reading about those guy's adventures, too bad about that girl last year though.

But to answer your question, I know a lot of people with rigids and think nothing of it, but I haven't ridden one except around town. The only reason I didn't go with a rigid is because just about every custom Ironhead I see is a rigid, so, like chicks without tattoos, being conservative is actually the rare choice.

Rode a hardtail from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon, Utah and back in one day (started out about noon)

    That's about 525 miles.

Never owned a rigid frame, always seemed self-defeating like wanting a wooden Laz-e-boy.

But (or is that butt) I have done numerous Half-Butts and two Iron Butts.

Source(s): Bragging abouts butts seems a little funny now that I'm at my computer chair. Time to ride!

Once around the block was enough for me...
