Should the internet be censored?
If so, what should the limits be? Who would be punished for censored content - uploader, host/site or both?

If you really believe the Internet is not censored, just write something a little off color here in Yahoo answers that some cry baby bed wetting liberal complains about, and see how fast it disappears.

The internet is already censored. Each site owner decides what will and will not be allowed and acts accordingly. Punishment usually ranges from warnings to banishment. Put that power in the hands of the government and you end up losing a freedom forever.

IDK where you live, but in American fantasy law that would be against our right to freedom of expression. There are parental controls and THAT is the problem with society- bad parenting .Although I realize that kids today are much more PC savvy than their elders, you can usually tell what your kids are doing by monitoring them... I have come across many TRULY abhorrent things online, but once censorship is enacted, a lot of oppression ensues.
I challenge each individual to keep the WWW a bit less horrific by NOT giving the unhealthy and ugly things in the human network ANY attention. Shock value has the effect of an opiate addiction- the more you consume, the more your tolerance of it benumbs you to the substance. Block bad links, report if they get too pushy, and be careful of your search engines- I believe Yahoo to be much safer than Google and also there seems to be a trend towards a less savage future in this wonderful realm.
VERY GOOD QUESTION

no but certain sites where you have to click something like "I agree I am at least 18 years of age".. thats way to easy to just click "I agree!" and there's no proof, so little kids can access porn, etc. It should be harder to access things like that, maybe enter your ss# or drivers liscence number or something to prove you're of age.. but it shouldnt be impossible. you can view anything you can think of online.. and to me, that's the beauty of the internet. freedom of speech!

Censorship sucks & pretty much goes against freedom of speech or opinion
