I have gone through this process with my partner ( who is Turkish and so a very difficult case) and she now has a 3 year extension after her 1st year. She can then apply for citizenship if she wants. This was remarkable as she is a self employed Artist and was accepted when 1,800 other Turkish applicants were refused. We had a very good presentation pack. Incl Magazine interviews and letters from clients. You need to have a job lined up or a buisness. Create a presentation pack about what you want to do in the UK and how the UK needs people like you. Letters from potential employers or clients etc. Basically show that you will not be burden on the country but an asset.

Polly i am in the uk
If you have paid for and maintained the property on your own for the last 7yrs
I doubt he can claim half
You will have a standing order or direct debit to prove this ?
If the house is in joint names then you must get sole possession
If he payed the mortgage while he was with you
He will be compensated for this in your divorce

You were married. Its split 50/50 now. Short term marriage laws only apply to a marriage that lasted a year or less.
