I think you may be referring to Alioli, if so, here's the recipe:
1 whole head of garlic peeled
1 egg yolk
1/2 l of olive oil
Grind the garlic in a mortar with a small pinch of salt
Once you have a paste add the egg yolk and keep stirring until all comes together
At this point I switch from the pestle to a wire whisk and I start to add the oil very slowly in a very thin stream stopping and starting.
