USPS 1st class usually takes 7-10 working days (including saturdays) USPS Priority (which could be construed as "express" shipping) usually take 2-3 days cross country. UPS Ground would be considered standard and usually takes about a week to go across the country. UPS 3 day, 2 day, and Next Day all imply a guaranteed time for shipping (though not all packages ship the same day as the order). Fed Ex is about the same.

UPS also has ranges of proximity, thus a package shipped UPS Ground from Seattle to Spokane might only take one day. Where a package from Seattle to Miami via UPS Ground might take a week.

Weather can delay deliveries, and sometimes adverse weather is used as an excuse even when there is no bad weather in the entire country.

Shipping over international borders can also delay shipments, as Customs Departments get involved and can legally hold a package as long as they like.

As for your question. Sportys.com can name the shipping method whatever they want to call it. They may call one shipping method Standard Shipping and another Standard Express Shipping which could cost more.
