Do you know about a space activity for elementary school?

Update:

I live in Central America, we dont have so many elements to make a project, but we do have U.S.A. educational standards.

We have no telescope at school and i can't get any glowing sticks. Thanks so much for all your ideas. The computer program is very helpful!

the coolest thing i ever got to experience in school (space related) was my teacher took us kids inside a black sheet tent and had glow in the dark stickers of stars, planets, and galaxies. not those cheap ones either, the good stuff.

Have the kids make a living model of the Solar System. I do this all the time with Grade 6 classes.

Planetariums are a great space activity, if you can make the field trip.

There are even some travelling planetariums that may come to your school and set up.

If you don't mind putting in a fair amount of effort, you could tinker with some old bathroom scales so they could show what kids might weigh on different planets.

A 'Space night' might be scheduled with a local astronomy group, if you can get enough parents to assist.

Contact your local astronomical society and ask them to arrange a 'schools' night. They can come out after dark to the school yo give a presentation then setup telescopes in the school grounds for the students to look through.
