What does this mean? I'm looking for a psychological defininition/answer here not an opinion thanks. 10 pts!?

So my friend laughs or chuckles everytime he's done saying something. He says he "laughs a lot." My grandma says she thinks people who laugh like that just a little bit when their done talking are really nervous. Anybody who has studies psychology know what it means or have any ideas? I find it very odd. Thanks!

Update:

I used to have OCD ( no longer "active OCD") and this isn't it. He do anything else that could be considered a tic so that's not it either. I also had Toretts so I'm sure it's not that. I'm think just general anxiety disorder maybe?

    Two things come to mind.

    * Tourettes - they're going to have motor tics and vocal tics, this could be a motor tic.

    * Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - People with OCD sometimes have rituals they have to deal with, for example, shutting off the lights a prescribed number of times after leaving a room, or perhaps laughing like that.

ur grandma is right, he's just nervous..he prolly thinks ur cute and he knows he's dumb. he's afraid you wont like him or what he's saying so he laughs trying to save you the trouble of laughing at him.
