Windows Media Center freezes when I try to play live or recorded tv?

I have Windows Vista, and whenever I try to watch live tv or recorded tv on my Media Center, it just freezes. I eventually get a message that says some of the files needed to play radio or video are missing or corrupt. Windows Media Center component registration may have failed. How do I fix this? It used to work before.

I have already tried a couple of system restores and it hasn't worked.

You will probably need to reinstall it, or get an update. If it says it needs a certain file, then get it on the internet. If it says it is corrupt, then do a system restore to the last date that it worked. It also may be that your computer cant handle it and it is just saying things to try to make it work.
