Do you consider this question to be asked in the form of a question?

Has anybody ever asked a question on here where you thought, "Yes. I've always wanted to answer this question"?

I recently asked the question above on Yahoo answers and it got deleted, because it apparently did not follow the guidelines. When I asked them specifically what I did wrong, all I got was a cut and paste response about how my question wasn't asked in the form of a question. What do you think?

Update:

The question is not a statement. It is specifically asking for something.

If Yahoo were to delete questions because they were supposedly philosophical rather than actually looking for facts, then roughly 98% of the questions on here would have to be deleted.

Rule is a question must seek knowledge or advice beneficial to all. What you posted was an introduction to conversation. It solicited personal opinions and was of no value to anyone.

The problem is that it is asked in a chatty form. You are asking for the personal responses of the individual users, but you are not asking for facts that will benefit most users. The giveaway is that your question can simply be answered "yes" or "no". Questions formatted that way are almost always chat. The other giveaway is "Has anybody" which really is the same as "Have you". Your question is really more philosophical than fact seeking and it would be hard to ask properly under the rules here.

No. The question is just merely a statement and isn't knowledgeable at all, thus warranting its deletion. It's just a no-brainer. Go here to read what the Answers Team has to say about this: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/abuse/gui...
