Did Dale Sr ever wreck someone when he was 150 laps down?

All this talk about how Sr wrecked people all the time, ok so he did, however it was usually for position not retaliatory. I seem to remember a story I read about when Kyle Petty took Sr out to win the WInston, he came up after the race put his arm around Kyle and gave him a rub on the head.

Dale did it all of the time, not just when it was for position. If somebody put him out he would come back on the track to race but also to get even with whoever caused the mess no matter what position he or the other driver was. It's sad, all of the fans and new drivers have gotten so used to this new style of no beating and banging racing that when somebody bumps somebody it turns into the most awful thing that has ever happened. Come on guys, trading paint is what stock car and Nascar racing is all about. A lot of the fans have just become big babies. These fans should probably consider taking up another sport.

Btw, I totally agree with Norris. He was dead on.

I think there is a big difference between the man Sr was and the kids racing today. Sr didn't have a problem taking someone out to get a win because all he cared about was racing cars, when Sr. first started out he either won or his family didn't eat that week & bills didn't get paid. I can't help but get tired of all the comparisons to Sr I see around here from kids that have no idea who Dale Earnhardt really was, what he stood for, what he did for racing and how many loved and respected the man. If you didn't grow up watching him you can't possibly get it and you definitely can't understand by watching utube. I loved that man.

To answer your question was Sr ever 150 laps down...LOL! No I don't think he would have retaliated like Carl did but then again it depends on how pizzed off he was. I like your story about the rub on the head and that sounds like typical Sr apparently Kyle Petty impressed him for having the kahunas to take the Intimidator out.

Dale Sr. never took anyone out when He was 150 laps down. With Dale Sr. it was about winning and getting inside someones head. You know like when he said I was trying to rattle his cage. He put his arm around Kyle because he was saying ya got me back and it's ok.

Didn't matter to Sr.,he was an out of control driver from day one...Carl, should be awarded a metal..can just take so much...but the whiners are out in force..and is really no ones business but Nascar's..this is a man's sport, policed by men...can't feature some of the girley boys being offended..JUST LIVE WITH IT..

Whenever Sr. wrecked someone it was for the win, not when he was 150 laps down.

    Ummm....

    No.

Carl was being an idiot and a complete bonehead with no regard for anyone but himself. He should have been penalized points, fined, or parked for a race. With that kind of idiocy being displayed, we need him off the track. What a buffoon.

No he didn't and the people that are comparing Edwards to SR are idiots. When SR wrecked people, it was when they were racing up front for wins and even then SR knew how to put the bumper to someone to move them up the track and out of his way. There were times when he obviously wrecked people but it is a completely different story when you are running up front and when you are running 150 laps down. I think its funny how everyone says its racing, but then the same people compare Carl to SR. Why isn't what happened earlier in the race part of racing? CAn't guys make a little contact without retaliating and causing more problems? I just can't wait to see how Keselowski gets pay back because the score isn't even close to be even. Carl fans want to blame Brad for what happened earlier, but true unbiased fans who see the truth know that Carl put himself in that spot. Then made it even worse by taking out his frustration from his own mistake on another driver. He's a joke and so is nascar for doing nothing.

That's a great point. Plus even if he did, Earnhardt had the authority to do it. He was a 7 time champ and one of, if not the, greatest of all time. Edwards is a fifth year driver with a couple intermediate track wins who hasn't done much.

EDIT: Well I shouldn't say "not done much" he's a good driver obviously, but you get my gist.

Maybe not, but I doubt he would have a problem with Brad learning a valuable lesson.

WELL DALE GOT THE NAME THE intimidater. by bumping other drivers. he did not cause you to crash unless you pissed him off. most drivers knew his reputation. and all admired him. Dale was one of the best drivers nas car ever had. the ones saying all this about Dale. are the ones whodon'tt like him.
