Is it incorrect to ask that your memory card be "developed"?
I work at a photo lab and I get people asking for their memory cards to be developed. I feel like saying "Sure, I'll throw that into some developer and we'll see just what we can get out of that little bugger - looking for the film look are you?" but I keep my mouth shut. What they are in fact asking for are prints from their memory card. I also get people with video tapes calling them films and people with old 8mm home movie film calling them video tapes. Grrr..it drives me a little crazy but I'll keep this to one question. Is it incorrect to say you want your memory card developed? Obviously you know my opinion but I'm curious if there is a real answer for this.

Having worked in photography for several decades, I know exactly what you mean. Just try to grin and bear it (I would say GRIN AND BARE IT! :), There are still tens of millions of Americans out there that haven't a clue as to what the difference is between a CF card and a film cartridge!
Actually, my thoughts would probably be, "sure, lets just go into the dark and see what develops!" Haha!
Take care, and good luck!

Of course it's wrong. There's nothing to develop. They want prints. Fine, they should say "Can I get the photos on here printed?" I worked in a lab for 6 years, I feel your pain. Though, if you ever decide to quit, on your last day I'd take the first person (who's not old - have some pity on them) and go throw their card in the soup and tell them you'll see what turns out in about an hour. Then, watch their horrified face, quietly go clock out and wait for your final paycheck.
Did that my last day with some a-hole and her professional photo. Just shredded it in front of her, told her sorry bring in a release next time, and walked away. Never once regretted it!
