Years ago, AUDI (model 4000) had uncontrolled acceleration problems. It damaged their sales so badly they quit selling them for a long time. Mitsubishi was accused of ignoring problems and not issuing recall notices at all for a span of 20 years. Ford had the fuel tank problem with the Pinto,Chevrolet had the problem with side mounted fuel tanks out side of their truck frames. All in all, the more electronic gizmo's they stick on vehicles the more problems like these will occur.

I mean really, are we so lazy that we need electronic windshield rain sensors to turn on the windshield wipers? (Cadillac)

there is not any. it fairly is referred to as piling on. There are some obtrusive reasons. For the media, it fills air time and sells merchandising. For the govt., it boosts the substantial different and young babies carmakers and by technique of the fact the GM is floating on an ocean of the taxpayer's funds, the govt.has a vested interest in boosting them. For the legal experts, it a gold mine and the greater hype, the greater useful their probabilities of settling the inevitable proceedings they are dreaming up. no longer only do substantial different and young babies vehicle have a variety of of recollects, they truthfully have a variety of of problems that are no longer recalled, yet must be. for example, I had a Ford Windstar that had a cracked rear axle housing, which will have led to the rear wheels to fall off. i found out from my mechanic that this became a simple undertaking with that vehicle. that comparable vehicle additionally had to have the intake manifold replaced because of the fact it became leaking air and inflicting the vehicle to run awful - and this became approximately 3 years after i bought it. comparable deal - my mechanic instructed me that the broker had a kit in inventory to restoration the undertaking and that meant that it became a simple undertaking.

Everybody is up in arms because Toyota has maintained the illusion that their cars are perfect and problem free due to their quality standards. And now with the recalls going on, the illusion of Toyota's being the perfect vehicle has been squashed, that's why everybody is upset compared to other vehicle recalls.
