Is being a photographer a good way to pick up girls?

Ok....before you simply relegate this to the dust bin on-line stupidity give it the tiniest amount of your attention. Com'on after all, to what red blooded heterosexual male picture taker hasn't this thought occurred to or for that matter, if you swing the other way or are of the other gender, maybe having that fine piece of imaging technology strapped around your neck might impress the boys too.

I know this is why I started...forgive me though...I was only ten at the time. I had a Rollei 35mm with big a**ed flash bracket and speed grip attached to it. Not sure it impressed the girls but I know I had a few adults wonder what the heck some kid was doing with this rig.

Anyway...I want to hear from women too...could you be so impressionable to fall for "I'd love to photograph you sometime"?

Give me a break...it's research!!!!!

"I'd love to photograph you sometime" - - that would turn me off faster than danny devito in a nappy saying "danny do pooh pooh, danny wants changing"

are you serious, i doubt it, buy some national geographic magazines - the africa ones the women dont wear no tops in them, their baby feeders hang around the ground when they walk its very nice.

if you must, buy a leather jacket, some tight blue jeans, a 300mm lens, stand on the corner with the camera at hip level and the lens angled up on a 45 degree angle, that might work for you - - be patient it might not happen the first night.

Don't know. Not interested in a girl so shallow and into herself that would consider a camera could turn a loser into lapdog photographer slash boy friend, would be a plus. There are some out there.

if you genuinely like photography then it's admirable and cute that you're into it, but if you're using it just to pick up girls then it's lame. why is it so hard for guys to just be honest about who they are- why do you feel you need a gimmick?

find something you're genuinely into and use that. if photography is something you truly enjoy then that's great and i'm sure i'd think it was cute. personally, but not speaking for all girls, i love guys and people in general with creative sides because i myself am really into artistic personalities.

it all depends on the individual you are courting. all women can't be generalized- try to remember that.

Oh yeah absolutely - get a really big camera with the longest fattest lens you can and you are just guaranteed to impress the ladies aren't you.!!!

    Sad, really really sad.

Maybe if you're really serious about photography, maybe take pictures in the taste of the girls you wanna pick up. Most logical thing you can do!

Let them think you are passionate about what you do.

No--after a while, they will discover that he doesn't know how to use the camera, it will sooner or later just come crashing down on him.

    nope

girls like guys with real jobs

however you can impress all the 16 year old wannabe "individuals" hanging out outside of hot topic
