Is there a way of getting a photograph tattooed?

I've searched the net and have never found this option as a possibility but thought it worth a post regardless. Is there a tattooing machine that can make a tattoo from a digital image file? If not someone should invent one because it would make you stupid rich.

The human body is too variable, too many ins and outs.

Any mistakes and the inventor could get super sued.

Personally I'd use tattoo transfer paper.

Print onto the paper, apply to skin. No pain and a week later when I'm bored with it, it's already begun to wash off.

I think a tattoo machine is one thing for sure where a human could do a much much better job than a robot. You can take a photograph to an experienced tattoo artist who knows what he is doing and get it on your body. I've seen tattoos of people made from photos. Some look amazing.....some look horrible. Check a person's portfolio on this before baring skin.

The problem with getting a photo appearance from a tattoo is that, obviously, a photo will have hundreds of more individual colors that make it. I think the nature of skin and ink would make it impossible to replicate the same dpi a color printer can print on paper.
