Anime or manga plot twist you never saw coming? Beware of spoilers.?

My question pretty much sums it up. :3

An example of a plot twist I didn't see coming was in Bleach, when Aizen was revealed to be the villian the whole time in the Soul Society Arc. I actually genuinely believed that he was a nice guy that got killed. Well so much for that now, huh? XDD

Oh and people who are going to read this and any answers, beware of spoilers.

But other than that, I'd like to hear some of yours.

Okay people, just a suggestion, but you should put the anime, then hit enter twice, and then type the plot twist so you don't go "spoiler warning" ....actual spoiler.....then say the anime. If you say the anime, people can choose to read the actual spoiler or not. Anyway, my choice is:

    Kite

At the very end, after they kill the bad bad people, the guy gets randomly shot by a little girl after he bought cat food. Earlier in the movie, the little girls basketball went over to him, he threw the ball in the hoop for a basket and then shot the ball (he's an assassin and he popped the basketball). Then that little girl kills him at the very end after the main plot is already over. I didn't see it coming.

    School Days

Again at the very end, I wasn't expecting Makoto to be killed by his second girlfriend, then have his head to be severed off by his first girlfriend.

    Heylooo Amandaa :)

    So many moments : o

Okay MASSIVE SPOILER but when Ushio dies in Clannad... After everything Tomoya has been through it was like "Noooooooooooo" DDDDDD': The intensity and emotion in that scene was really unbearable D:. But it was unexpected, cause deep down you want her to live. (The end itself was an entire balanced plot twist too)

The whole of Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai was an epic plot twist, in the first series nothing really makes sense, Hinamizawa keeps repeating itself, people keep dying and the end result is always the same.. In Kai we have a more continuous flowing Hinamizawa, finding out *spoiler*

Rika was the one who knew everything was a great surprise to me and I finally picked up the hints given in the first series because she was always the little innocent one "Nipa~" but really she was mature with the mind of someone much more controlled and together with things. When things played out in Kai the plot twists were everywhere but it was well explained and pieced together.

Higashi No Eden, when Akira recovers his lost memories and realises his former purpose, I mean Higashi No Eden was a mystery based anime so at times I was left scratching my head trying to fully understand the scene I'd been presented with, but within the final few episodes it pieced together very nicely. It's a bit to complicated to just explain here though but you'll see what I mean if you've watched it :).

I could think of so many more, as my favourite anime/manga will always have a plot twist somewhere, I like it when they can throw in the unexpected like Monster in nearly every other chapter has a plot twist that throws you off guard from the word go when you realise Johan is the villian.

    Hope this helps :D

In One Piece, Ace being the son of the legendary Gol D. Roger left me amazed, and surprised. I totally did not see it coming. I always thought he was Luffy's brother even step-brother at least but no he had to be the freaking Pirate King's son.

In Naruto, Jiraiya's death was spoiled for me, but when I got to it in the anime it was so tragic and incredible, the way he fought against Pain in the Village Hidden in Rain, as the situation became more hopeless but Jiraiya kept fighting I really didn't think he was going to die.

    Too bad he like, did.

The biggest plot twist was in Shuffle!

I thought throughout the whole series that Rin was going to hook up with Kaede....then

    POOF

he hooks up with Asa, she was like an extra throughout the whole series except around the end.

    so that was pretty surprising

I'd have to say Death Note.

    [After L died]

So, L died, and I never thought that his replacement would be able to discover Light was Kira and defeat him because L didnt(he most likely would have been able to discover Light was kira sooner or later and he would have been able to defeat him at some point in time, bieng the greatest detective in the world and all), but looking at the circumstances, I was sure Light would become "God" of the world, but he didnt, that was a huge suprise to me.
