A man wakes up from surgery. He hears his doctors voice, Mr. Jones, are you with me?
"yes" he replied. The Dr. continues, " I have bad news for you and I have good news too, what do you want first?"
"Give me the bad news doc."
Mr. Jones I'm very sorry, we had to amputate both of your feet.
"Oh my, so what could be the good news, I'm still alive?
No Mr. Jones, The patient next to you wants to buy your shoes!

...Michael was invited over, ate dinner, and then died later that DAY? lol... thats funny^^
anyway, um.... all that is being asked is "what killed him?" and that is answered in the riddle/question.
"John invites Michael to dinner on a Saturday. The food, a platter of roast beef sandwiches, was served from the same plate. The drink, iced tea, was served from the same pitcher. The utensils were clean, as were the glasses and plates. However, <Michael died from his meal> later that day. What killed him?
