Where should I move? Tampa Bay or San Diego? I am desperate, please help?

I am planning to go for a Master Degree in Computer Science. I don't care Sand Diego is expencier.

Tampa - I am ok with high humidity, I love hot weather, otherwise I can't shower. I hate lightning. I am scared it is too small and will have less career opportunities. Higher crime?

San Diego- I like it is close to LA, more IT oportunities(or is it harder to get a job? not sure) It is bigger than Tampa Bay, probably more fun(never visited, though). Low crime? More universities? It is drought in summer. I am very scared of earthquakes.

Please correct me, answer me where I questioned, and tell me your opinion about what will you do. Anything you have in your mind about this 2. I will appreciate any word. I'm trying to take this decision for a year. I am going nuts.

Please!!!!!

Thanks

Thanks

There are two universities in Tampa. University of South Florida is huge and also U of Tampa is there. Florida college costs are cheaper than California and they offer the courses more often so you can graduate on time. A lot of people take longer to get a degree in the CA system because of cutbacks the courses they need may not be offered for another year. In Tampa the real estate is affordable. My son bought a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch here at the age of 23 in a nice safe neighborhood. They are looking into a light rail system to make commuting easier and the legislature just passed a bill to have a train between Tampa and Orlando.

When a hurricane comes, you can leave in time before it hits. When an earthquake hits its unpredictable and strikes without warning. Luckilly in San Diego there aren't as many Earthquakes as L.A. and if there are quakes in San Diego it is probably felt from one in L.A. and aren't severe. San Diego is very expensive though, but the climate is beautiful. The terrain in San Diego is a lot more to look at than Florida, in Tampa it is so flat. Tampa does not have as much crime as you think, but everywhere has some sort of crime.

i would choose San Diego because California is a really nice place to live (personal experience) there are lots of jobs and big cities around there and major earthquakes don't happen that much mainly just small quakes every now and then. There are more universities there and the droughts aren't that bad.

In tampa there is just not as much stuff around and probably a higher crime rate.

I would chose tampa bay if i were you. I mean, nature wise and weather wise, in FL they tell you when a hurricane is coming or where about it is going to hit or how bad it is going to be. In CA there is no warning for when an earthquake may strike. I think Tampa Bay weather wise would be a safer bet.
