I tried starting my car this morning, and all I heard was a clicking sound. Why won't my car start?

My car was recently rear-ended and spent the last two weeks in the shop being repaired. I picked up the car yesterday and only drove it 5 miles home w/ out any problems. This morning, it wouldn't start at all. The battery seems to be functioning. All of the damage repaired, seemed to be to the exhaust system and to the rear of the vehicle. Anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Btw my car is a 1999 Honda Crv.

Sounds like your battery is low. A battery can have enough power to run the radio, lights and things, but not enough to turn the engine. You may be able to jump start it and drive around for 30 minutes or so and get it charged back up. Good luck.

while the battery is low on voltage, there is not sufficient present day to maintain the starter solonoid interior the closed place, so it cycles open and closed. That grow to be the click. The fix must be cleansing the battery terminals or replaci9ng the battery or alternator. Any vehicle aspects homestead "autozone, etc." will try your battery and/or alternator for loose.

sounds like a dead battery......u need to get it charged....jumping isn't the greatest idea but will work......

basically by sitting for 2 weeks the battery slowly lost its charge and ur short trip home did not run the car long enough to recharge it...

so charge it or get a jump and run it by a parts store they will check the bat/alt/starter and charging system for free.......good luck

It sounds like the battery is too weak to turn the motor over.

have the battery checked for specific gravity of the acid, it might have gone down due to the long period without being used,

GET A GOOD LONG JUMP and see if it goes.

Sometimes body shops leave a door open and drain the battery totaly which can KILL it.

    otherwise you have different issue/s

it could be a few things like battery terminals dirty or loose, the battery is shot or the solenoid went out.
