Postage for Wedding invitaions?

I am preparing to send out ur wedding invites. Is it necessary for us to use wedding stamps or will the standard stamps do?

When my husband and I sent out our wedding mail... we actually got stamps personalised with a photo of us two and 2 rings.. they were so beautiful and unique! We got quite a few compliments :)

I did it as I wanted it to be different and memorable.. after all, you never send out mail for your wedding again!!!

But in saying that... of course it is perfectly fine to send out regular stamps if you don't really care for it... to each their own!!

Standard stamps are just fine. You don't need fancy ones. HOWEVER, do take a complete "sample" to the post office (address, all enclosures, etc.) and have it WEIGHED to see what exact postage you will need. You can't believe it, but a simple "extra" paper (i.e, map?) may put you into another category of weight (more postage) so get it weighed just to be on the safe side so you know the exact postage.

YES, there have been some invites that come BACK to the bride/groom with "insufficient postage" stamps all over them! Yikes!

I'd go to the post office and have your invites weighed. If the invites weigh too much the post office will charge you more. And I'd rather receive an invite with a post office stamp than one with more than one stamp on it. But if they weigh normal, you could just pick out standard stamps that look nice. There are very pretty ones out there.

I'll link the postal services store in the source section.

Any stamp will do as long as it is the right postage, but would be nice to use a pretty stamp. I never heard of wedding stamps.

    congrats

  • Usually wedding invites weigh more than the average stamp that's whay they are different. If it doesnt weigh more than go for the reg stamp.

A good way to figure out how much postage would cost is take the complete invitation to the post office and have them weight it, and see what they say.

Put the stamps on the back of the envelopes, and not in the corners.
