What are some issues in the short story Harrison Bergeron that are still relevant today?

Just disregard the title for the most part.

I came across this question in a module booklet for english 30-1 and I'm sort of confused as to what it is asking and what it's looking for in an answer.

Also, Verisimilitude is a 'truth-likeness' or 'appearance of truth'

'Several details in 'Harrison Bergeron' contribute to a sense of verisimilitude. Despite being written over 40 years ago, Vonnegut's story presents issues still relevant today. Discuss how these create verisimilitude in the story. Use an example from your own experiences and observations to illustrate the ideas about equality presented in ''Harrison Bergeron'.

I'm just confused about what the question is asking for the most part. And what events its referring to.

the whole story is about people being different (in a good way) there is way to make each person equal. the story "tries" to make people equal by putting limitations on them. like a strong person will get weights strapped onto there body to make them the same strength as a weaker person. but this still doesnt make them equal because the stronger person can be picked out by the amount of weights he has to wear.

a good example is school uniforms in my school. they are used to disguise the richer student from the poorer student (theres other reasons also but this one goes with the question) just like in the story there are different brands of uniforms that cost at different prices, still showing the different classes of students.

hope this kinda answers your question.

government oppression on our civil liberties

    censorship and propaganda (lies)

"equality" as an oppressive term meant to limit our freedom (in disguise of freedom)

    - Equality, in a way, creates Inequality

**Essentially, Vonnegut is satirizing the obvious contradictions in America's notion of equality.**

ex: capitalism...(supposedly creates equality).... the rich get richer and end up controlling most of the market.... and the poor end up living on the street

Equality is in the eye of the beholder or Limiting freedom does not achieve equality, only a dictatorship
