Why would you be selfish and risk kids healthy by not vaccinating your child?

Law and Order: SVU had a perfect example of just how selfish a parent could be by not vaccinating a child. 

Basically, the show started out with a young mom who went out partying and stated that she had left her baby girl with a nanny. Of course there was no nanny and the young mom had actually buried her dead daughter. The daughter at the time was not old enough to get a vaccine yet. 

The mom thought that when the baby was crying she had hit her too hard and she panicked. Except that the baby didn't die from being hit, instead she died from the measles. 

It turns out in one of the parks that the mom took her daughter too there was a woman who's son who had been sick and turns out had the measles, so the virus was spread because the mother did not get the vaccine for the child. 

The mom with the kids who had measles was arrested for the babies death. She was found not guilty. 

But, there's more to the episode. After the woman was found not guilty there was a 911 call to her residence. You see the grandfather of the young woman who had her baby die run into the house.

The show makes it seem like he went in their to kill the woman who had the kid with the measles, but that's not what happened. He shot himself in the head and in his hand was a picture of his grand daughter. 

So, not only was this woman responsible for a death of a baby, she's responsible for the death of the man as well. 

Just because you choose to not vaccinate your child doesn't mean it won't have an effect on another child.

I could have done without the whole confusing episode recap, but yes honestly I don't think it's a good idea to not vaccinate, but I understand some people's fear of it. I do not believe most mothers would intentionally put their children in harm's way, but I don't think doctors should be completely dismissed either. There are plenty of ways to be educated and conscious about vaccinations without avoiding them completely.

NO. Unvaccinated kids have been found to be much healthier than vaccinated kids because their immune systems have been allowed to develop and mature on their own without repeated assaults from the toxins in vaccines. The way the man-made viruses, whether they be dead or alive, is injected into us, is unnatural and more and more science is showing it overwhelms the immune system and causes autoimmune disorders like asthma, autism, diabetes, arthritis, and more. Do some research. I've done hundred of hours worth. CDC, FDA, medical journals. What they are telling us just doesn't add up. There are hundreds of books written on the topic. By doctors and PhDs. Don't just accept something because it is a generally held belief.

It's a matter of choice really. My son is vaccinated. I believe it is the right thing to do, some don't. I think it's that a lot don't realize that the risks of something happening when a child is not vaccinated are so much higher than if they are vaccinated.

My son has been on schedule with his vaccinations since birth (he's 7 months now) and (knock on wood) he hasn't been sick at all. Of course that also is dependant on the fact that I make sure he is kept away from things that could make him sick, I stay home with him, and we live in a very clean home.

I guess women have their reasons, no I don't understand them, but I won't question them. I am not them nor do I parent their children.

Only if it's NOT for the H1N1 flu...any other vaccination will be fine with us...

Mainly it's the debate that ex-Kansas Gov./HHS Secretary Kate Sebellius tried to literally quash the other day on CBS, saying that we either "get off our damn butts and vaccinate against swine flu", or else!

To me, it's the preservative that's used in the H1N1 vaccine itself(thimerasole) that people are against...and I credit Alex Jones with putting out the word on this "preservative" and how it causes more deaths than saving young lives!

The first sentence disqualifies your already incredibly biased question. 

People believe way too much of what they see on tv. It's sad.

Just because we do not agree with not vaccinating a kid, it is against some peoples religion. 
The point is if your child is sick with the measles, flu, H1N1, or anything else contagious you should keep them home!

Just picture if you lived in NY State...would you go to California to get a better H1N1 shot than the one mandated by Albany?...one that has NO mercury?...I would!

I don't trust medicine that has chemicals and toxins in it that damage your body.  Chicken pox is not going to kill you. I got chickenpox at 7 and never caught it again.
