Thinking of joining Navy (prior injury)?

I am giving serious thought into joining the US Navy, but I had arthroscopic assisted surgery in H.S. to repair a torn ACL, would this exclude me from joining or would they just run a few tests or what? I do not have any issues with bending/straightening the knee or doing any activity. will post additional info if needed

Update:

as far as lying goes, i think you go through a physical, and theres a significant scar on my knee that even a bad doctor can tell what it is

uh talk to a recruiter the recruiter would probably just have you lie about it if you have no problems with it

No way is that an exclusion in the army, my buddy just went to O.C.S. with an old acl tear surgery, you just need to provide the hospital records, if it was repaired there should be nothing wrong with your knee, its a ligament and once repaired works fine, and who ever said its a disqualifier is a fuckn moron, i had an acl recunstruction years ago and squat 300 for reps easy right now, if you get **** from navy, go army, you wont have a problem.

This would not automatically exclude you.

Just be sure you mention it when you fill out your forms (as I recall, there is always a question about 'have you been hospitalized and why' or something like that).

    Good luck.

I joined for four years as a seaman recruit and somehow or other it was thirty years before I left.
