That was only the American media, IMHO. I know elsewhere in the world, he was still very popular even during the child molestation allegations (which he was found innocent of).

That's exactly what i thought. I'm a super fan of him and i've always been. On every site and every forum, i just kept repeating to everyone that NO MJ is not a molester, NO he didn't bleach his skin on purpose, NO you can't assume that he did this or that because you don't have any proof of that whatsoever, and everybody just kept bashing him, telling me that i'm naive and wrong. But now, when i go to these same sites and same forums, these same people are like "Omg no! why did he have to die?" or "Rest in peace king of pop!" *tear.
I guess these people didn’t realize how amazing he was because they couldn’t imagine that he would leave us one day, he was a real star, a living legend, so amazing that he was somehow considered as immortal by many, that’s why his early death stuck everyone like lightening and generates so much shock in the entire world. But you know, what they say:
“ we don’t realize what we have until it’s gone.”
It's just like mozart, he wasn't very popular when he lived, people realized how much of a genius he was only when he was already dead - MJ is the mozart of the 20th-21th century. I think Michael jackson was the kind of person you wouldn't necessarily want to hug if you see him, but he's also the kind of person you wouldn't want to let go of, quite a controversial type of guy. It's hard to explain.
Though even though i'm a fan of his like i previously said, we must admit that he wasn't...one of the most handsome men in this world, he was pretty when he was black and natural without the surgeries and stuff, but now erm...But that doesn't change anything about the fact that he IS (not was, he still is) the King of the KINGS OF POP! Who gives a damn if he actually molested kiddies (i really doubt that btw because he's been acquitted twice and there's no proof of that), he had a golden voice and awesome dance moves, He created a whole new style of dancing and music and he was a humanitarian. He deserves all the respect in the world.

It's because Michael Jackson's dead people realize all the things that he's done : singing at age of 5, first moonwalking, etc
I personally think he was gifted , we cannot be sure if he molestered children or not .
by any means, he was an artist, a rave fashion in the 80s
People who hate him are those people who were upset cuz he changed how he looked...( Many people have surgeries, it's their body ,they can do what they want !! )

Well, a lot of people are being nostalgic and remembering the "big-nosed" brown skinned Michael Jackson at the beginning of the Michael Jackson legacy. See a millions of people loved his music and his looks at the beginning; whereas it switched to just his music as he transfigured himself through plastic surgeries and as the allegations of child molestation kept popping up. But, it shocked the world and even me that he died yesterday! That would have been like the one zillionth thing listed on my list of probable things that might have happened yesterday if someone had asked me to list them beforehand. Rest in peace, Michael Jackson, is all I want to say right now.

It's not that. The people that love him now have always loved him, they just don't talk about it all the time. He's just so huge all around the world that it's so sad for everyone. I never got how people could cry when a celebrity dies because you don't know them and have probably never met them, but i cried when MJ died. He's a legend and can never be forgotten and most definately not replaced. Also, whether he was a paedophile or not was neither proved or disproved, and innocent until proven guilty,, right?

I was asking a bunch of my friends the same thing today.
I've been a fan since I was 8 years old. I'm 15 now and I was praying that I could see Michael Jackson ONCE in concert before I died.
When I heard the news, I was shocked. I couldn't believe it. I could never see him live in concert. I could never meet this genius.
Of course, I ALWAYS supported and loved him. I never lost faith in Michael and defended him when all these jerks were talking sh!t about him.
Now that he is gone, suddenly everyone LOVES him.
It's stupid, I tell you.
But hopefully now, Michael Jackson is watching over us in Heaven.
R.I.P Michael Jackson.

You do not understand. He was the King of pop. He was an amazing singer, dancer, performer at the age of 11. He was just great. Plus, nobody knows for sure if he did molest children.
RIP Michael<3

Because now they have one less celebrity to kick around the Internet with jokes and photochopped visuals. I think those will be the ones who will miss him most.
Funny how the ones rushing to support him now never spoke up during his scandals.

What a great question! But it's a shame there are still some hard hearted people around making mean comments! What a great shame it is!
