What is the salary of a NASCAR pit crew member?

I am interested in going to a pit crew school and this is what I want to know... the salary.

Odds of making over 100,000 per year are unrealistic unless you win a bunch of races and nail a championship. If you just do pit crew duties on weekends, the last number I heard of was about $1,000 a race for some of the top paid guys. I would think that number might be a little higher now. Average crew guys in the shop make $35,000 to $75,000 a year depending on what your skills are and how much experience you have. Each team has their own bonus program. Bonuses are paid out for top 10s, top 5s, wins, picking up spots on pit road, etc. I know many years ago, crew members were getting a $1,000 bonus for every race win at RCR. Think about this: that pit crew school you want to attend has already been graduating students for quite a while. You'd have to compete against them for a job. There are more eligible employees than there are positions to fill.

not sure of the exact pay,but i did hear the announcers talking about bonus money for the chase(if they are in),top 10,top 5,wins,where they are in points at the end of the year, and quick pit stops

after some research i found this article

On a good Sprint Cup race team the same person can make $140,000. Sources in the garage told me that pit crew members can make $150,000 – $175,000 if they do other jobs at the shop. One shop structures their pit crew pay this way $35,000 for a first tear guy, $40,000 for second tear, $55,000 for third and $70,000 for top rung. Plus, of course, what they get for the job they do in the shop.

This varies from team to team.A hendricks or Roush or Everham team makes more that a Waltrip or B A M racing crew does. The actual numbers may be posted but the sites I've seen do not have them posted. That's all I have to say about that.
