Should I forgive and forget or dump his a**?

I have been seeing someone for the past two months, a guy that I absolutely adore and have introduced to my friends. Last Saturday night, I was out with him and he told me that he'd had sex with his ex-girlfriend on his birthday (last Tuesday).

Needless to say, I was very hurt. He then said that he didn't realize that I liked him so much to care, and furthermore wouldn't apologize because I hadn't defined the rules of our relationship and "goodbye" sex had always been on the cards with him and his ex.

So should I dump him? I REALLY like him, and he claims to really like me.

He's making up excuses. Here's an example, you say you really care about him? Well regardless of the rules of the relationship you wouldn't have slept with your ex now would you? Because you truly care about him... Now if he truly did REALLY care about you he wouldn't have slept with his ex girlfriend now would he? He's just playing the game and he's not worth it. If he needs a relationship to be defined to him, he sounds like a moron. Commitment goes hand and hand with the word relationship.

He did not think you would care? Sorry, but this guy sounds like a jerk. True he confessed, but he slept with his ex when he already had you! He knew he was crossing the lines of your relationship. How could he not know. I would calmly explain to him that you are angry at what he did. Then dump him. Why settle for second best when you could have a guy who loves you and would never cheat on you.
