Cat hurt his paw and is hiding in tight places?

This morning my cat came inside (he is outdoor) and was compltely unable to walk on his back right leg. He is crying out in pain and when I put him on the couch he quickly crawls into a tight place (repeatedly). He has been walking okay on his 3 legs but the damaged paw is curled inwards as he walks.

My question is to aleviate the pain temporarily, CAN you crush up a small amount of asprin and put it in his food?

Should I banadage it or just not do anything and take him to the vet?

Why is he hiding in tight places? Its unlike him, he cries from those places too. Very loudly. Its killing me to see him like this! Please help!

He needs to be seen by a Vet. The vet will take X-rays to see if the leg is broken. He is hiding because he would be a sitting duck in a fight. put him in a cat carrier or have someone drive you while you hold him. Go in first and get the desk nurse (Vet tech) to help you bring him in. they will get a cage or a room ready so you wont have to wait in the lobby with other animals.

Do this asap. Unless your vet has cleared it do not give human meds to animals.

I hope your baby gets well quickly.

Take him to the vet right now. If he is crying like you say it is probably broken! Do not give him medicine before the vet sees him and the vet will give pain meds as needed that are suitable for a cat.

Take him to the vet or emergency pet hospital now. He may have broken his leg or done severe damage to it. NEVER give your cat human medication...at best he is 8-12 pounds...he weighs as much as a newborn and would overdose on even a small amount. He's hiding because he is very hurt and scared and doesn't want anything making it worse. Gently get him out, put him in his carrier and take him right NOW please!

Good Lord Hon, DON'T give him aspirin, it can cause kidney failure in cats---same with Tylenol!

Your cat needs the vet, plain and simple---he may have something as simple as a small laceration, or he may have a broken limb. We aren't doctors here, so there's no use in speculating; only your vet will be able to diagnose the problem and take appropriate action.

You need to take him to the vet. Usually a cat only cries out in pain if it is excruciating.

your cats paw could be broken

DO NOT GIVE ANY HUMAN PAIN MEDS ...they can kill your cat.

TAKE THE CAT TO A VET RIGHT AWAY AND THEY WILL GIVE PAIN MEDS AND will be able to save the paw.

If you wait you might have to have the entire leg removed.

If you have $$ problems call the local SPCA and see what they can do to help.

good luck.. (don't wait on this)

You should take your cat to the vet.
