Any thoughts on this?

Not Stepping Up

The moon is translucent,

a grey ghost

faintly hiding in the blue, blue sky

The sun screams loudly

its song

Flowers awaken,

applaud

and drink

I remain silent,

afloat

in a sea of tranquility.

I love, love the applauding flowers. I got such an amazing mental image from that one line.

How do you remain so tranquil with so much noise? You have to share your secrets with me...

This scene is tranquil - as the moon, sun and flowers go about their daily routine we sit and admire the beauty of it.

I particularly like the bit about the moon being present as the sun is rising. That's always been a wonder to me. Still seeing the moon when the sun is up. I'm sure an astronomer could describe it to me, but I'd rather wonder.

I love the battle of dawn; the moon hushes and backs away as the sun takes over the day.

Even the responses to this piece are poetic. Inspiring. I have yet to make peace with silence. Good write

When I see the moon in daylight hours

It's hard to know where to begin.

We muse on the moon, perhaps losing its powers.

Could it be, that the air's just too thin?

The final stanza nailed it for me!

I love that image and being in that place.

What...the alcohol hasn't worn off yet? Nice reflection of early morn.

Just when you think it is too simple, too cliche, it begins to resonate and works very well.

    Almost there.
