Everything Kevin E said. At least the slaves now have a voice in society. A bigger one than white people in some situations because the racism card is played at every turn, like that has to be the only reason. I mean, let me start a college that only pays for white people to be educated (or only cambodians or only mexicans..etc. for that matter). Let's see the outcry for the injustice at seclusion but black people do it and they get national accreditation for it. I mean, just look at the outcry of people under me saying that I'm a racist whatever <insert expletive here> because I said that. But let me make a comment about Native Americans (NOT INDIANS!) and cut that list of complaints to about 2. Native Americans ostracized for their casinos and their "reservations" and treated like they should stop complaining and be grateful with what they are given. Ya, thanks a lot America, the land of the liars and the home of the hypocrites. And I'm only a little bit of native american (1/16 Choctaw) but it pisses me off to know that this land we live on was stolen with brut force from a nation that only wanted a peaceful existence in harmony with nature and respectful of life.

Um, isn't that kind of obvious? It's been far from good for any of the above--it's been hell, in fact, for all of us. Tell me, though, in either of the American continents, how much attention has ever been paid--and I mean to this day in 2009--to indigenous nations? In Montreal, Mohawks are federally imprisoned, still, after 30 years, for attempting to defend (with guns, I admit) a "reservation" graveyard from an onrushing suburban golf course. Further south, in the US, we're vending casino licenses to "reservations" and feeling good about ourselves. We're still using that word, "reservation," with no qualms, no apology, nothing. Yet we'll still get all emotional over Hitler's death camps (and rightly so) and ignore the fact that he drew their blue print from our own "first nation" solution. Take it further south, Central and South continents. Am I hearing an outcry, or even a whimper, from anyone, over the 1st (lost) nations down there? But let's put it this way. Imported, indigenous, none had it "worse." They all had it bad. Here's the good part. The powers that be have been VERY slowly but surely inclining their ear, albeit it's taken a hundred plus years, to the African American voice. And I'm glad--I believe that rocks. Tell me this, though. What ear is inclined, even now, in 2009, to a voice, any voice, from the 1st North or South American nations?

The Native Americans were forced out of their homes (like the African slaves) but their food was taken away from them in some situations and were slaughtered by the hundreds.

Both peoples were treated horrendously, but the African slaves had to be given food (however meager) and a place to rest (though short) in order to be able-bodied enough for the labor necessary in the fields. If slaves were to become too weak to work, it would be at the plantation owners' expense too.

I would have to say the Native Americans.

The first nations people of North and South America were Australopithecus - and you people wiped them out like cattle. Who speaks for them?

    This is SUCH BS.

Nature brings new species along from time to time, throws them in the fray, sees who comes out on top, retires the others into extinction. That's not man's doing. That's God's idea. We flatter ourselves to think we can alter THAT course at all.

I don't know what ethnic group you consider yourself, and I don't care, but you might want to think twice before setting your group apart from the rest of mankind, cause that's how it begins. One group begins to become different from the main group, then there's less and less interbreeding, and one fine day no one's seen any of them for a few thousand years.

So before you pronounce some group in a grandiose self-righteous "first nations" title, maybe you'd like for the rest of us to consider you or them, as people with us all, rather than as a splinter-off group that doesn't consider itself part of us -

These people (any people) who want to pull back from the crowd and claim special identity ought to watch what they pray for - cause if Nature ever hears them and notices some genuine difference, then someone's on the extinction track. And it's probably not the majority.

Well, if you take into consideration the fact that the Native Americans were Also slaves; one can conclude they have been treated worse. SSeeing as they have also had their homeland taken from them.

They all lost their way of life and became subjugated to another power I dont know if you can say any victim is worse off than any other.Maybe the worst off were those who brutalised them because they lost their humanity
