NCAA selection committee?

Are the selections for this years basketball tournament a slap in the face to the non-power conferences for the law suit filed against the BCS in football?

Update:

Rick W. thats what I mean, there should have been a couple more.

No. You can thank all of the upsets in the tournaments that took away at-large spots for the non-power conferences. When USC, Mississippi State, and others win, that doesn't leave much for the rest.

Not really. I really don't think that there's some conspiracy to stick it to the non power conferences for their law suit.

The thing when it comes to the selection of teams, is they have to pick the best teams. Yeah, they only got 4 at large bids, but its hard for the little conferences to compete. I mean, a lot of it goes based on strength of schedule, and when you play for a power conference, you're bound to lose some games against good teams, whereas some teams from the non power conferences rarely play anyone at their level.

In the end, the non power conferences can't complain at all. There are 31 automatic bids, 25 of them from conferences outside the big 6. Thats 25 teams that just have to win their conference and they're in. A team like St. Marys who was on the bubble, can't blame anyone but themselves. I mean, they lost to Gonzaga by 25 in their conference finals. Granted, Gonzaga is the #12 team and should have won, but if you lose to a tournament 4 seed by 25, do you really think you deserve to be in the tournament?

In football none of these teams would even have a chance. It would be Louisville vs Pittsburgh (the top 2 seeds) for the National championship, and you'd have Uconn, UNC, and the 2 seeds in bowl games, and thats all. The mid majors would be left with no chance at all, and hell, most of the top teams would have no chance. At least the mid majors get a chance to get in and compete. You can't expect to have more teams in the tournament than the power conferences, and they have plenty of teams who can compete.

i assume i'm a splash at a loss for words via the story and the link doesnt' artwork so I wasn't waiting to verify the object. Is your question why did the committee help out a traditionally black college fairly of choosing the perfect obtainable group? if it is so then i could easily record this under the class of opposite racism. The adventure could desire to continually be related to the perfect sixty 4 (sixty 5) communities interior the country, regardless of their race, college, etc.

How is it a slap in the face when there were only 4 at-large mid majors, the lowest number in years.
