If I were to do either of those trades it would be the first one. Prince Fielder provides power that not many players have. Berkman is getting up there in age and his decline is getting ready to sink in. In a keeper league, I get rid of him now as he still has some value. From the looks of it, there are still quite a few solid outfielders in Soriano, Ichiro, Holliday, Manny, etc. You should be able to replace Crawford's value with one of these players.

Why would I not take the Granderson trade? I like Granderson, but I don't know if numbers will be as good as Fielder's overall. Granderson will have a .280+ average with okay power and good speed, but Fielder can just blow away with his power. Plus, he is young like Granderson and will be yours for a few years to come.

    Good Luck this season.

I'd say the second one is the better offer, so just reject the first one right off.

Crawford and Granderson have a lot of similarities, so I think they're pretty even. Take a look at your team and see if you need a top-flight C (McCann, Mauer) or 3B (Youk, AmRam, Chipper), as at least one of them at each position should be available at the 16th pick. That plus the 2nd rounder should be worth Berkman considering his age and the possibility that he could be at his peak trade value right now.

As always, put every trade in context of your entire team... if you're already keeping Longoria and Russell Martin or already have three 1st round picks or something, then don't make the trade.

If you're thinking any further then the 09' season, face it,Berkman is old.

But, there's no telling who will be left at the 16th picks, and beyond.(Pujols+Soriano wasn't kept?!?!?!?!)

    Personally,I would counter with Berkman+Crawford for Granderson+

Fielder straight up..(Because I think Granderson will have a Grady Sizemore like season, and Fielder will have a better year then last year.Plus your keepers get younger!)

i would do the first offer.... fielder will have a solid season, but not berkmans numbers... however, crawford is getting worse and worse and its better to have a first rounder and on of those guys in the draft.... the second one isnt enough because quality will due toward the end of the second round
