How about one good tip?
Unfortunately, I just lost a photo contest and as I am examining some of the winners one thing occurs to me: two of the winners I like really POP.
Anybody have one good tip to make a good photo great?
Thanks on the tripod tip. I am getting good images in terms of sharpness. Shot a dogsled race with a small aperture and fast exposure and achieved tack sharp images.
Sam, I am working hard to jump to the next level and I am almost positive it is my exposure control that is holding me back. I work the histo on the camera, and need to learn more. The "secrets" the pros don't share. And I work the post-production, but need to really concentrate on your tips. Thanks.

Get good exposure and focus in the first place, but then - it sounds like maybe they have been goosed up a bit in Photoshop. Learn about saturation and sharpening. Seriously. They can make a "plain" picture really pop.
