I worked for a place called Trojan Battery Company. This won't answer your original question, but it may educate you a little about lead and the dangers thereof. Every metal componet inside a deep cell battery is made of lead. I worked around stacks of 70lb bars of lead every day. I handled raw lead with my bare hands all the time. As a safety precaution and an OSHA standard, our 'blood lead levels' were tested on a regular basis. It is measured in micrograms (of lead) per deciliter (of blood). Every adult human has a natural blood lead level of approx. 3 (mg per dl). Mine never got above 12.7. OSHA's standard is 45 or 50, and that is just to be safe. The fact is that you don't start seeing any adverse health effects until your blood lead reaches 90. If your piece of glasswear is leaded, it would only be a minimal amount and even less would make it into your system. As I previously stated, I handled raw lead all the time with bare hands and my blood lead stayed very low. Is lead dangerous to the human body? Extremely, but you would be wasting your time and money having that piece of glasswear tested. It would be easier to get your blood lead level tested by your doctor... and it might even be cheaper.
