Well tinting can't get it all. Sun kills interiors. If you live in southern California good thing to have. If you live in Seattle no so much. If you live in Alaska why bother. I put the manual window shades up on all my cars year round because I'm to lazy to put it up when I'm parked just to keep the interior from fading. What better than to just push a button. But like all BMWs toys these days it won't last long anyways..

    manny,

To be honest you are the best person to answer this question.

Do you live somewhere where it is sunny and hot a lot of the year ?

Are you on a limited budget ?

It is a nice feature to have, a bit of a novelty but in my opinion is more of an extra than a real practical addition.

If it is within your budget and for at least 25% of the year you will be driving/parking in bright sunshine then yes I think it is justifiable and you would benefit from having it.

If you are on a budget I would advise you think about more practical day to day extras instead, such as comfort access where for approx £300 where you can leave your key in your pocket, lock/unlock the doors and start the vehicle.
