Why there are so many homeless people ?
I just don't understand it... So many souls without a place to stay. Is it their mistake ? Why nobody cares ?

I was homeless myself for 6 years & there are many reasons why this happens to people. There's usually a series of setbacks through out the individuals life & then there's the final event that puts them on the street. It could happen to anyone. It could be drugs, drink, divorce, redudancy, you name it. Once you are living on the street it becomes a way of life & very difficult to get back into society. If you didn't have a drink or drug problem beforehand then you'll probably end up with one. You've then got the vicious circle of no address no work, no work no address. Without an address you can't claim any benefits either & therefore end up in a worse rut. There are organisations which are different in each town or city but usually there are soup runs every night & sometimes a breakfast run were some good samaritan provides you with a hot meal. You can't trust any other homeless person but usually you hook up with one friend who you can trust & look out for each other. Eventually enough is enough & you finally realise that you've had a gutsfull of it & if you really want to sort yourself out you will. Most people though once on the streets end up used to it & stay homeless for a few years. I eventually got some help & have been living in my own place for 5 years now.
