Places to eat near The Fillmore/ casino?
I will be in Detroit (from Cleveland) on Wednesday for a concert at the Fillmore. We may visit the casino as well. We're looking for a good place to have dinner. Nothing too expensive, but we want to try something new (not a chain restaurant like Applebees). Any recommendations?

I would like to suggest the Roma Cafe in the eatern market of Detroit. Make sure to map it from your hotel because it is a hidden gem of Detroit. The oldest Italian Rest in Detroit, it is the best.

MGM and Motor City casinos have about 4 good restaurants apiece inside them. Near the Fillmore is Foxtown Grille, The Woodward, and Hockeytown Cafe among others on that block. Good chunk of solid restaurants in Greektown, a short cab ride to the Fillmore. Some good restaurants in the Ren Cen as well, like Seldom Blues and Coach Insignia.

Pizzapapalis-It's in Greek Town by the casino. Delicious deep dish pizza.
Orchid Thai- It is over by Hard Rock Cafe and Compuware.
