You can wax a new car the day you buy it, the paint is cured at the factory and can be waxed before it even leaves the assembly line.

You can wax your car now. However, to get the best shine and longest lasting protection, you should:
1. Wash your car with a shampoo made for cars (not dishwashing soap!)
2. Clay your car to remove contaminants from the paint finish.
3. Polish your car - you'll need a polishing machine like a Porter Cable 7224. Since this is a costly investment, you can technically skip this part but any swirls cannot be removed from you paint.
4. Protection using wax or a synthetic polymer sealant (lasts much longer than a wax).

Wax it asap. Wax is to protect the finish, not to try and restore a damaged finish. Do it at least once a year, or if you live where there are salty roads or losts of dirt, 2 or three times a year.

It's definetely not too early, sooner rather than later. After a good polishing job, use a good car wash liquid that has a polish in it already for car later washes.

you can wax it every month or every other week if you feel like it, it'll only maintain the paint job longer
