If you're a musician/vocalist or would like to be, which one would you choose?
1) Play/sing whatever music you want to and get by financially. . . . . or . . .
2) Play/sing only what someone else wants you to and become rich and famous.
Be careful what you wish for!
No cheating Fonzie - you can't have both. One or the other forever.
I know it's a little late but can you tell me what instrument(s) and type(s) of music
you'd play?
I thought some people would say #2. I added the "what instruments/music?" after I saw that wasn't going to happen (glad to hear it). I'll wait a while in all fairness.

I'm choosing {and would always choose} option #1.
For me, it's about making music because I enjoy it, because it makes me happy.
Being told what to sing / play all the time and being controlled by others would *not* be enjoyable for me...
Instruments :
All I can currently manage is the Tambourine, but the Chanter has a certain appeal, and I *wish* I could play Piano.
Type of Music :
A real mix of Classic Rock, Folk, Folk-Rock, Celtic {really need certain musicians for that}... basically a mix of all the stuff I listen to...

For me i would pick #1 i just enjoy music, lots of different types. and as far as playing a instrument... i can play a little piano, but my true love is the guitar, I'm trying to learn how to play that now, lol. I'm 46 some say its a little late in life to be tryin' but i love the sound of the guitar so i work on it when i have time and someday i will get it and i will sit back and relax and enjoy my music... i love classic rock, and metal and hard rock

I would pick number 1. I would play MY music. I would hate to have to live with the fact that i can't say and write what i am really feeling then just rather writing "disney music" and become adored by some pre teen girls that don't know anything about music.

My gut says #1, but maybe #2 only if I'm rich (don't care about fame at all) after the 1st album. THAT way, I'd have enough clout to break my contract & THEN do #1. :)
Edit*
Lol! Siiighhh! Okayyyy! :)
#1.

1, because I can't write about what I don't know about or like or whatever.
That's why my teachers don't always like my writing...because I generally write with a darker overtone and they want their damn question answered. I always do better with open-ended topics like poems and short essays that have one word as the topic.

1. Because more respect given and chances are, if you pick option 2, you'll just fall off eventually anyway.
