Beating the whites with a blender?

I'd like to know if beating 4 egg whites with a blender is a good substitute to using a mixer.

I only have the two small pairs of blades at the bottom of the blender bowl.

Does a special tool exist to beat whites?

I don't think I have the courage to do it by hand anyway.

Update:

I mean, does a special tool that fits blenders exist for beating whites?

If the blades and the container are very clean( no oil, soap the pieces and rinse and dry very well) you shouldn't have a problem. But the whites beat best in metal or glass bowls.

Blenders don't have enough space to create the aeration you need for beating egg whites. Use a whisk, it's not a "special" tool, but it will beat the whites better than your blender. I don't know how stiff you are wanting the whites, but it may take you awhile if you are trying for stiff peaks. It doesn't take courage, just endurance. Side note: it will work better if your egg whites are close to room temperature.

I don't think it's going to work with the blender, but if you're not sure just try. A tip it's easier to beat egg whites if you add a bit of salt.

    The blender won't work. Sorry.

It should work. You can do it by hand with a hand whip, but it take forever!
