What do you think of the idea of accepting everything?

What I mean by this is the extremist view of acceptance. Can we be ok with _______? It seems to me that we as humans push against ______ causing poor states of being. So it makes me wonder if I can accept it all.

Comments?

Update:

Alright, be specific about what type of things should not be accepted and why.

Not all people are capable of accepting everything when it's actually pretty simple to do. It doesn't mean you agree with it. It just means you don't fight tooth and nail to make everything your way. You just accept things for what they are (because everyone and everything deserves that right) and move on.

not everything should be accepted however everything should be understood. We should understand why something happens or why someone does somthing or at least try to understand. A serial killer on a killing spree for example we should try to understand why he would do such a thing. I guess we could accept the fact that he is killing but that doesn't mean we can't change it and accept it in a different way.

I don't think everything should be accepted. Rather, only the things that are both morally and ethically right should be accepted. That is the nature of this world, is it not? We humans create laws against things that should not be accepted, and try (though we often fail) to reward those that play by the rules. I, for one, would not accept it if someone anal raped me. I would not accept it if anyone hindered my autonomy in any way, for that matter. People who commit heinous acts should be punished for them.

No. It's Biological. That you view acceptance as an exptremist view only says more about youor judge of others than their abilty to accept.

Just Thought I would point that flaw out to you.

It's called pride, and not to get religious on you because even the greeks knew this, Pride is the inescapable sin.

All you are doing is Waxing philosophical on how to get to "next level" awsomeness. see the vanity and pride?

it's not so much accepting everything, but acknowledging different points of views and facts.

no one can believe everything, no one can possibly deny every idea, but some people chose to be indifferent about most things they don't believe, while others choose to speak out for what they believe.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know where to hide the bodies of all the jerks who really piss me off!

Not everything deserves to be accepted ~ and I'm a pretty accepting sort.

Of course, I don't have a clue as to what *you're* talking about...

it's possible but to a certain extent. I personally think that I wouldn't be able to do it. just because our minds can't keep track of whether or not we accept ideas and things.

    it's fast judgment.
