It was a representative I believe. I think he's a rep in a midwestern state. He was talking about Mexicans.
I strongly disagree with the statement. It is hateful and ignorant.

The only "peasants" in America today are the homeless. We are selfish, greedy, and have NO gratitude in our attitude.
America itself is a palace. There may be Dukes and other kingdoms around the world but WE are still that shining light on the hill.

The speaker who made this comment is the one who should be considered the peasant. I am not sure what district he is representing, but to my knowledge this is not the first time he has made these type of comments on the house floor.
