Cat throwing up yellow...need vet?
My 2 year old ragdoll threw up about 4 times over the night. He doesn't have a fever and was active yesterday. But its yellow. How long is safe to wait to see if its just something he ate?

Yellow is bile, and it indicates a very serious problem. He's vomiting from deep deep inside because there is nothing else inside him to vomit up. I have even seen a cat vomit feces after continued bile vomiting. My IBD cat did this often until we got him on a species appropriate diet of raw foods. It was very very sad to watch and I'm glad we cured him.
Please take your cat to the vet as soon as possible if kitty continues to vomit or is not eating or drinking.

My cat, Calvin, who was young and went outside, he ate some grass and he threw it up...it was yellow with a little bit of green.
We didn't take him to the vet, he just ate the grass and it didn't settle in his body the right way, so he threw up about 3 times.
I don't think you should take your cat to the vet, unless either the cat:
1. Keeps on throwing up..about-I don't know- 6 and many more times>>>>take him to the vet!
2. Throws up blood>>>>take him to the vet right away!
Good luck with your kitty, I am sure he is fine, just the grass went down the wrong way and your cat couldn't digest it, so he threw up.

He's throwing up bile. It might just be because of something he ate. But if it continues, bring him to the vet just in case.

It could actually be something he ate. But just to be safe, you could make an appointment with a vet.

Hmm..Yeloow is the normal color, but throwing up that much isn't. You should check with the vet. r, just change the food. Also, if you give it meat during the day, it may be the cause. That is what my cat does.

Check for pieces of grass in the vomit. If it is yellow and a bit foamy, chances are your cat has been eating grass to purge something that didn't agree with it's tummy.

If he's active and willing to eat and drink, I personally wouldn't worry too much.
Make an appointment if his condition gets worse, otherwise just accept that this is something cats (and dogs) do.

Sounds like he's throwing up bile. It's probably just a minor stomach upset. I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues for more than a day.

Take a stool sample to your vet and have it tested to see if he has Giardia that makes cats throwup as well as have diarehea nonstop.
Source(s): My 7 month old kitten had Giardia for 3 weeks and was put on medicine for it and now she is being spayed today and has gained an extra two pounds to make her healthy enough.
