The question was "to find coronary artery disease".
Angiograms CT, Multidetector CT, and conventional (catheterizations) are to diagnose "obstructive" coronary artery disease.
The first step to diagnose CAD is to measure coronary artery calcification, which is the best marker for CAD. Thredmill, Thallium stress tests, ECHO, and such are to determine muscular flow/perfusion, another words, they help diagnose the myocardium not the vessels feeding them.

A Dual-source cardiac CT!!!! This cutting-edge cardiac technology is capable of non-invasively (doesn't require an incision) collecting images of the heart and coronary arteries in a matter of seconds. Studies have already shown that this new technology is the most accurate non-invasive test available. This level of detailed imaging is going to transform the treatment of heart disease. This accurately accesses the blood flow to the heart and quantify the plaque or deposits in the walls of the blood vessels. This just is not possible with other imaging tools. Unfortunately, this imaging technology is only available at certain cardiac centers and hospitals in the US. In less than 10 seconds, 4-D pictures of coronary arteries, veins, cardiac chambers, muscle and valves can be collected in breathtaking detail. Camino Medical Group is the first medical center in Northern California with this technology. It's awesome! When more readily available it will become be the gold standard for early detection of coronary artery disease.

A stress test, then a Doppler (ultra sound) and a venous something or other. I forget what it's called. They put blood pressure cuffs on your legs and arms at different intervals. If these show anything, then you get an angiogram.

I am an echo tech, so I am partial to an echo stress test both for its non-invasivness as well as its accuracy. But I believe the MOST accurate test would be an angiogram.

A heart cath is the most accurate, but you would probably want to start with a stress test

They have tests called CT angiograms now that are AMAZING. They are also referred to as "CTAs". It's very easy and gives great results. You should call around to local cardiologist and see if they are available in your area.

the "gold standard" is doing an angiogram but it is invasive. followed by a myocardial perfusion stress test

I believe it would be the thalium stress test.
