no, most 8 month olds cannot read.However, they will eat the book and this is quite normal, they love to gnaw and chew on anything..

No such word in the english language as bibliovore. There is bibliophile which is a lover of books. So obviously your son likes to be read to and likes to look at books. You simply have to be able to define "normal" in an child.

You mean he loves books? Well, if he does now so much then make sure he goes all the way because people love certain things in the begining and they end up hating it later on!
