cup wad for steel shot?

i used to load tousands of 12 ga. for trap and skeet but that was 20 years ago and i don't reload any more when reloading or buying factory made shells do they use a plastic cup wad like i used in the lead shot i was making?

    Steel shot wads are slightly different, in that they are stiffer and often a solid cup. This is to protect the inside of the barrel from scoring by the hard steel pellets. Loading steel is not necessarily any harder, it's just different. More like loading rifle ammo because of the higher velocities and pressures.
