Drunking boyfriend needs help.?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and a half now. I would really like to get him so help. and he want the help also. He will not go to AA because he working in a hosiptal.

He drinks a 6 pack or 12 pack everynigh. weekends it is always more. don't really drink. if I have 2 drinks am out. so can anyone help me? love him and don't want to see him final himself again.

    Poor girl I am sorry. It is hard to see s/b go thru that you cant fix them you just have to be patient and hope they find their way he will come to realize that whats really important will eventually bring him bak. hang in their.

    I would strongly recommend AA, whether he works in a hospital or not. He's not going to get fired for going to AA meetings. He WILL get fired if he lets his drinking interfere with his job performance though.

    Quitting drinking is hard. But he's going to have to quit totally. Not one drink...EVER!! That's the only way to whip it. Otherwise it will control you and your life. Alcohol will become the one love of his life and everything else will be second place. No one wants that to happen.

    You should strongly recommend that he quit drinking entirely and start going to AA meetings on a regular basis. Alcoholism CAN be whipped! It happens all the time! Good luck.

    YOU DIDNT SAY HOW OLD ANYWAY MY EX DRANK 6-12 EACH NIGHT FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS AND WILL NEVER QUITE ONLY IF THEY WANT TO AND A FEW AFTER WORK ISNT ALL THAT BAD, SOME SAY AFEW IS ACUALLY GOOD FOR YA , HOPE AND WISH YOU LUCK IT'S A ROUGH ROAD,FOR ALL OF US
