fantasy football?
Let me start by sayin I don't know much about football, but I am in a pool with my husband, brother and neighbour - all guys. The players were put into a pot and everyone drew names. I have: QB- Vince Young, Drew Brees Carson Palmer, Eli Manning; RB- L. Tomlinson; L. Johnson, Steven Jackson, Travis Henry; WR - Chad Johnson, M. Harrison; Anguan Boldin, Steve Smith; TE -Todd Heap, Jason Witten, Chris Cooley, Ben Watson; Def teams are: Minn, Atl, and Oak. As of week 8 I am at the bottom. Because I wanted to be involved I have to do it on my own, but I don't know enough about it. So, who would be my best players to pick every week. We can pick 2 guys in ea category and 1 def team. We can also pick 2 kickers - mine are: Jason Elam, Josh Scobee (I think he is injured), Jason Hanson, David Akers. My brother has Tom Brady and is leading in the pool. Anyway, if someone can help me to choose the best of my poor players, I would really appreciate it. There is no money involved. Thnx

Well, it's hard to say, because you never know which players hage injuries, and you have to take into account the defenses they are playing against. Having said that, I can give you what I think are your best players at each position.
QB:
- Carson Palmer - start him every time, unless he's hurt
- Drew Brees/Eli Manning - it's a toss up, look at the defenses they are going against. If you can't, go with Brees, he seems to have picked it up lately.
RB:
- L. Tomlinson - always start him unless he's hurt.. he's a top 3 running back
- Larry Johnson - his yards haven't been as high as they could be, but he's your best option
- Steven Jackson - when he's healthy, start him.. but he's always hurt.. he just got back from injury, and then got reinjured this week
WR:
- Boldin - he's real good, but his QB issues make him on the fence
- Steve Smith/Chad Johnson - Steve Smith gets much better numbers with QB Delomme is playing, when QB Carr is playing, Smith doesn't get the ball as much. Chad Johnson is a good, solid pick, his team always throws the ball, but lately it's been going to the other WR
TE:
Witten - always start him when he's healthy
Cooley/Heap - I would probably start Cooley on most weeks
Def:
- Minn - always start them
- Oakland - their D is better than most realize..
Kickers - I dunno! :-)
Anyways, good luck, I hope you climb the rankings. You kinda got some bad luck, with injuries and uncertainties on their teams!

QB - Brees & Palmer
you could throw Eli in when he has a good match-up. Vince Young is not a good fantasy QB
RB - LT & Jackson now that he is back but throw Johnson in next week when Jackson is on bye
WR - Johnson & Smith
Harrison should be back next week, watch his status because Smith is victim of QB issues in Carolina & his stock is falling.
TE - Witten & Cooley
Watson is hurt, is Greg Olsen available in your league?
K - Elam & Akers
DEF - you are hurting here. you need to drop Atl & Oakland for ANYONE on 2waivers, Minnesota isn't a whole lot better
