How to reset the 07 Volvo S40 services light?
Other than return to the dealership, is there a way to reset the service reminder.

1. Turn ignition switch to position I.
2. Press and hold "tripometer reset button".
3. Turn ignition to position II.
4. Continue holding day counter for about 10 seconds.
5. After Service Reminder Light flashes, release tripometer button.
6. Should hear "beep-beep" to confirm command accepted

Hold dound the odometer reset button, turn the ign key to position 1 for 1-2 sec. Then, turn the key to position 2 still holding the button down. Wait for the service light to flash and release the button. It can be tricky. It may take a few times to get it.

For the 07 you have to get it turned off at a dealer. The answers above are correct but for older Volvo model years.

It could be an 02 sensor. First take off the gas cap, leave it off a couple minutes then carefully replace it tightly. Sometimes that's all it takes.
