Is it possible to visit the Aland Islands in a day trip from Stockholm?
Or would the ferry schedules/length of trip make a Stockholm/Aland day trip virtually impossible?

The quickest (2 hours) and cheapest ferry to the islands leaves from Grisslehamn; however, it's about 100 km from Stockholm.
The cruise lines that stop there take about 4 hours.
