I got this one recipe off the internet, But I don't know how to cook the potatoes in it... What do you suggest

It says I need 4 med potatoes and place them in a greased baking dish and top it with the chicken!! They cook for 60 min @350*f covered and then 10-15 min uncovered. Would you slice them or leave them whole?? They are suppose to be garlic potatoes... PLease Help me!!!

I would probably cut them in chunks. I wouldn't leave them whole. How will you place chicken on top of whole potatoes? yeah, either slice them or cut them in chunks, or even dice them. You want those potatoes to absorb the flavor, and cutting them is the best way.

  • The potatoes must be boiled already & mashed. The baking tray must be greased with oil or butter. Then spread the mashe potatoes, chicken on top & cook in the oven without covering them without any aluminium foil. I honestly don't know what a 'garlic potato' means.

I would slice them in big chunks; if you cut them up too small they will be mush by the time the chicken is done. Unless the chicken is in strips, it will take 30-40 minutes to cook, not 10-15. Unless you like your chicken bloody, which I don't.

I have a recipe like this, but you have to peel and dice the potatoes into large chuks and boil them in salted water for 15 minutes before you put them into the oven to bake with the meat. My recipe calls for pork chops, but I assume it would work the same way.

since you have to bake for 60 minutes i would suggest cutting them into quarter sections or thick slice. you may be able to use a couple cans of undiluted cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup. reduce the heat to 325 and after 30 minutes check every 10 to 15 minutes

cut the potatoes into chunks- like eight chunks per potato. that way they will cook faster than a whole potato. and if they're in the same pan with the chicken they may crisp up from the juices- yum!

I would scrub them really good and cut them in chunks skin and all......might be good to boil the chicken then shred it up put it over the potatoes, adding garlic, spices and cheeses then bake...

I would use new red potatoes and cut them in half (washed well and un-pealed). They are small and will cook in an hour. Much better than russets for this type of dish.

I would peel and slice them - I don't think they'd cook through in only an hour if you left them whole.
